Our Commitment to the Environment

EcoSmart Inc. is very proud of the environmental benefits associated with burning denatured alcohol as an alternative source of energy in our collection of designer fireplaces.

To build further on our contribution to climate change we have partnered up with Carbonfund.org to offset our carbon footprint and the carbon footprint associated with the manufacture of denatured alcohol.

For every EcoSmart™ Fire purchased, EcoSmart Inc. will plant two trees on behalf of the client which will offset the emissions generated in the production of ethanol – these two trees, according to CarbonFund, will offset just under two tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

Carbonfund.org supports carbon-reducing projects such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects. We have chosen for our contribution to go towards reforestation projects which benefit the environment by absorbing CO2 emissions, which helps to reduce the excess greenhouse gases that humans have added to the atmosphere.
